“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11
Celebrate this today, friend! The God who created you knows every detail of who you are- your life, your joy, your hurts, your sorrows, and your every tear. He knows what you’ve been through, what you’re going through, and what lies ahead. He knows your desires, your heart, and every detail of what makes you, you. And guess what?! He has amazing plans set aside just for you.
God gave this message to the Israelites in exile, assuring them of a prosperous future and hope despite the difficult circumstances they were currently facing. Let this be your assurance that God knows what you’re going through, and He is giving you the same message of hope!
In this verse, the word prosper means to flourish, thrive, and experience success in your life, particularly in the sense of well-being and abundance. Some say the word prosper means finding peace and contentment in the midst of life’s challenges. This verse doesn’t promise a life without enduring hard things, but rather gives us reassurance that God will provide for us and that we will have His peace with us.
Let us rest in this amazing promise God gives – to prosper you – to give you hope and a future! And not just any future. A future that is prosperous – flourish, thrive, experience success, well-being, abundance, and peace. That sounds like a promise we can stand on today.
